Penicuik definitely has talent! This year’s show was the best yet!
Penicuik Hunter and Lass Talent show 2017 was fantastic! The children of Penicuik are extremely talented – there are definitely a few names to look out for in the future! The Saturday night final was a culmination of weeks of primary school heats, where the winners from each school’s age groups are put forward to perform.
The acts were just amazing and showed such variety: we had dancers, singers, musicians and hula hoops… There was a hall full of family members and friends all cheering and willing them to do well – we don’t know how they didn’t get stage fright!
The unenviable task of choosing the winners fell to our judging panel; Hunter and Lass 2016 – William Brown and Kerry Wilson & Hunter and Lass Elect 2017 – Grant McLagan and Sharon Sloan.
The 2017 Winners from each group were:
- P1-P2 – Meisha Smith (Mauricewood Primary School)
- P3-P4 – Katy McDonald, (Cornbank Primary School)
- P5-P7 – Jennifer Kerr (Cornbank Primary School)
The Overall Winner of Penicuik’s Got Talent 2017 was:
- Jennifer Kerr, singing ‘Skyscraper’ A cappella from Cornbank Primary School.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Penicuik Primary Schools, Gorgeous George, our compare on the evening and Peter Middleton, for their help in making this night such a success. We look forward to seeing the next generation of talent at next year’s show.
