Talent Show

The 2026 Penicuik Hunter and Lass talent show was held on Saturday 16th May at Penicuik Town Hall at 6pm. It was another fantastic evening celebrating the incredible talent, confidence, and spirit of our young people.

The event brought together finalists from schools across the community, each having earned their place by winning their respective school heats. From the very first performance, it was clear we were in for a special night.

The audience was treated to a wonderful variety of acts. There were powerful and heartfelt singing performances, energetic and creative dance routines, a brilliant comedy act that had everyone laughing, and impressive musical performances. Each performer brought their own unique talent to the stage, showcasing not only their abilities but also their courage and determination.

Across all categories: P1 to P3, P4 to P5, and P6 to P7—the standard was exceptionally high. From solo performers to duos and groups, every act demonstrated the hard work and dedication put in during the school heats and rehearsals. It was a joy to see so many young people expressing themselves and supporting one another. Stepping onto the stage in front of a full audience is no small feat, and every single participant should be immensely proud of their achievement.

A huge thank you goes to the school staff, families, and the many music, singing, dance, and performance coaches who supported the children and organised the heats within each school.

We would also like to thank everyone who helped make the night such a success, including our host for the evening – Derek Wilson, the sound technician, and our judges, Penicuik Hunter and Lass Elect 2026 and Penicuik Junior Hunter and Lass Elect 2026, for their time and tough decision making.

Finally, thank you to the community for coming along to support the children and create such a warm and encouraging atmosphere, and to Penicuik Town Hall for once again hosting this wonderful event.

Congratulations to all of our finalists—you are truly stars of the future—and thank you for giving us such a memorable evening!
