Pram Race

The pram race is a great event, which sees many teams each year dress up and decorate their pram to run around the main roads of Penicuik. The teams meet in Pentland House car park on Wednesday 24th May at 6.45pm and the race starts at 7.30pm outside the Cuiken Inn, Edinburgh Road. It is always well attended with cheering crowds along the way.

There are prizes for the winners but also those who are best dressed and have the best decorated pram. So everyone taking part is in with a chance of winning – but you have to put in a lot of effort, we’ve had some amazing entries in past years (see some photos below). This is judged by a special guest.

The race is open to 10 year olds and over as long as they are a member of an organisation taking part and must include 2 adults of 18 years and over.

The mode of transport is not restricted but is has to be manually worked.
